I command you all to ditch those boring black and brown liners and get out of your comfort zones with some colour. DO IT.

Let the sun come out, and with it, splash some colour onto your face in subtle yet loud ways. Pulling off a coloured liner can be a little tricky if you have warm/medium skin tones like mine or even darker - so these colours would be perfect for you to experiment with. If you have fair skin whether or not vivid colours would look good on you is out of the question, be bold and take the risk.

I have these liquid liners that I have yet to create some looks with, (festival looks maybe?) I’ve had them for a while but I’ve never really taken the opportunity to use them and now I have the perfect excuse.

Let me introduce you: Bourjois Paris clubbing liners in the shades Violet Laser and Electro blue. The vibrancy of these liners is so unreal I literally swatch them whenever I see them looking all neglected in my make-up drawer. As I mentioned earlier, those of you with a similar skin tone to mine should be more inclined to rocking colours like this as they are more complimentary to skin with yellow undertones and are going to prevent you from looking washed out like lighter colours can often do.

Just look at these swatches. So so SO beautiful.

I’ve been looking around online for these as there were some more colours I wanted to get but I’ve found that they’ve actually been discontinued, so you can find them on sites like amazon or eBay.

Here are some looks and methods of applying coloured liners to inspire you, I will be posting some soon too.

Ok guys, it’s time to crack down and be more productive than ever. This post is dedicated to the completion of another college year that I repeated, I’ve done it, I made it out alive, with only one more year to go until university and considering how time has flown since the beginning of my last academic year in September it’s not going to come at a slow pace.

This year has undoubtedly been extremely difficult for me, concerning all aspects of my life such as my personal issues, my health, my education and my job. Looking back, all I can remember is feeling upset, unhappy and disheartened. I constantly felt like there was something missing, I wasn’t satisfied with not having the resources to do a lot of the things I know would make me happy however although factors like that do affect our everyday attitudes towards life and sometimes its inevitable especially as a female you never know how you’re going to feel one day or the next and once you do spiral downwards into energy that only consumes you rather than brings out the best in you its a vicious cycle that is often difficult to get out of. It dawned on me that every second I spent feeling negative I am not going to get back. So putting into perspective the fact that I can only remember my bad times more than the good, it saddens me as for the type of person I am who is always smiling, making the most out of every situation no matter how bad, being full of life and forever laughing my problems in the face I let myself down for allowing that to happen when I had so much to give deep inside.

Another part of moving forward for me is accepting what is done and to focus on what is to be. I have a habit of dwelling on the past which often creates extra stress for me that could be prevented, it sounds easier than it actually is to do because reasons for dwelling on the past could be because there are no real distractions or actions that make you feel like you are actually progressing, unfortunately that just comes with the commitment of education and working on the weekends leaving you no time to focus on yourself at all. Now that I have time to form a routine for myself, I vow to pay attention to my feelings and make it a priority to shun any sign of negativity in early stages, and actively tackle my problems by finding every solution possible rather than complain or moan long before I decide to fix anything.

In regards to my health; after 100’s of visits to different doctors, specialists and countless tests I have decided to rely on a gluten and dairy free diet. My body rejects most foods and as a result makes me extremely tired, lethargic, weak and causes me to sleep for crazy hours, lose crazy amounts of hair, lose crazy amounts of weight, lose crazy amounts of energy.. so ultimately, with all these issues, I guess I kind of lost myself too.

Although changing everything I eat is going to be really hard because I am the queen of all things containing sugar, I know that it’s for my benefit and I’m going to have fun experimenting with clean foods and seeing the results which will hopefully lead to a happy lifestyle for me. I’ll also post recipes for anything I make on my blog so I can share my progress with you all and hopefully inspire anyone else to change their eating regime.

I’m also hoping to incorporate fitness into my daily life, as well as getting right back into dancing which I’ve always been so passionate about, i’m considering yoga or Pilates as it is very beneficial for the body, it helps get rid of aches, pains and keeps sickness at bay and I’m striving to keep my body happy and in good shape.

image

So here’s me raising a glass to making resolutions based upon everything that has impacted me negatively and ensuring I do the best to prevent it, I’m beginning to understand the importance of my own life and how to maintain smiles throughout it because I’ve spent too much of my youth doing the opposite and that isn’t a true reflection of who I am that I, or the world, needs to see. Surround yourself with positive people, positive minds and create a barrier that protects you from taking in anything other than that. Our tomorrow isn’t promised and I refuse to live with my feelings being controlled at the expense of anything materialistic or the harsh words of another person’s tongue. A healthy mind is a happy mind, feed your soul with the ingredients it needs to bloom and grow into the person you’re destined to be.

Dior everything for Dior Cruise, she looks so ladylike in this baby pink silky frock paired with a silver metallic cocoon coat, pointed Dior pumps, purse and jewellery.

Tip: Style your chokers with high neck tops this season for a sophisticated yet subtle way of accessorizing - mix gold and silver jewelry to make any outfit versatile instead of having to be consistent with the colour of your accessories.

Just a quick post to show you all a few of the lipsticks I’ve accumulated recently that yes, I haven’t used, why? Because hello?! It’s exam season! Ain’t nobody got time to look pretty when you’ve got grades to work for!

We all have a weakness for something or another and over the past year I’ve become obsessed, literally, OBSESSED with lipsticks, my friends have to pry me away from lipstick stands or whisk them out of my hands whilst I’m swatching - it’s getting REAL unhealthy. I got all of these for summer, when I can actually spend time on myself, my appearance and create looks that I’ve intended on doing for so long especially for my blog and at the request of my readers.

What’s your favourite?

Every few months I browse through the ELF site with the hope to find products I can experiment with or use on a daily basis in order to get value for the money I spend, as with anything I purchase. Unless you are repurchasing an item you’ve already used before, online shopping can be a nightmare when it comes to buying things you specifically need because you never really know what the colour pay off is like, nor do you have the direct opportunity to swatch anything as you would if you walked into a cosmetics store.

For some reason, every single time I shop online knowing what I want to buy but totally winging it when it comes to picking colours - I strike lucky and land myself with make up items I love and never ever regret buying.

Elf nearly always have some form of promotional deal on offer, whether it be discounts or free gifts and during April a huge discount of 50% off all orders over £30 was up for grabs which I’m choosing to believe was in my destiny as my budget has been so tight recently and my spending habits had to tailor to minimum spending in an efficient manner.

I’m sharing with you some of my favourite items from the bundle of things I bought, let me know if you end up buying any of the same products!

This cool edition ‘Beauty Book’ palette contains 48 eye shadows and I chose this out of the two available because of the spectrum of colours that would probably benefit me more during the summer. I wanted an eye shadow palette that is a cheaper alternative to other palettes I own that cost more money and that I would rather save to use on occasions. The size of this palette is small and easily portable - I initially thought it would be medium sized but once it arrived I was pleased with the smaller scale of it as it is generally going to be a lot more convenient for me to travel with (I always get so scared of my other palettes breaking in my travel bags.) The colour payoff is pretty impressive, I’ve swatched a few bright colours so you can see how pigmented they are.

I scored with every single item shown in this picture. The first product is a matte lip colour - I am ALL about matte lips I feel that they suit my lip shape and skin tone the most and I just can’t get enough of them. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pink nude that isn’t a lipstick for quite some time and I finally found it. This shade is called Praline and it matches perfectly with the lip liner I use for my everyday make-up that I buy in bulk in fear of them ever being discontinued.

I also really wanted a highlighter that I could keep in my make-up bag rather than the illuminating palettes that are difficult to fit in clutches or small cosmetic bags when I’m out - I’ve tried quite a few highlighters but I’ve never come across anything quite like this. It is called ‘Golden’ radiance enhancer and is absolutely perfect for anyone that has a tan, wants a bronzed look for their skin or is going on holiday over the summer.

I’m at a point now where my MAC studio finish concealer is half way gone and I came to the decision that I needed an alternative that gives just as much coverage. After hearing mixed reviews on this concealer, I decided to give it a go and to my surprise it actually isn’t that bad. It is very dry like the studio finish concealer so needs warming up slightly with the fingertips, however I usually layer with an anti dark circle liquid concealer regardless so it lasts throughout approx. 6 hours of the day given the fact that I’m constantly working, going outside at intervals and prone to touching my face which rubs some of my make up off.

I’m getting bored of liquid liners and I wanted to experiment more with soft pencil shadows/liners so I bought this eyeliner and shadow stick to use for subtle eye lining and smoldering smokey eyes. Trying to stray away from traditional black, I got it in Midnight/Blue which is a really nice double of blue shades that are dark but still distinctive with a touch of shimmer that reflects light and draws attention to your eye make-up.

(That blob on my arm is scarring from a burn, it’s still healing! >.<)

I’ve never been one for singular shadows, I’m a palette kinda girl and I always will be - but exceptions can be made when it comes to receiving shadows in such beautiful colours that the packaging it comes in doesn’t even matter anymore. I didn’t actually buy this, I got two free gift items and this was one of them and now that I have it I can’t imagine what I’d do without it. It’s a loose eye shadow so acts like more of a pigment, it looks very pink in the pot but once you apply it over your lids its more of a sheer baby pink and looks to me like a really, really beautiful silver. I’ve used it a few times and I apply it mainly to the inner corner to brighten up my eyes - I know I’m going to use this loads over the summer and I genuinely cannot sing it’s praises enough.

I wanted them. I got them.
Ankle strap sandals have been on trend for months now, they are the perfect heeled shoe that can be paired with absolutely anything and everything, making any outfit look so elegant and classy because of how simple they are. Any shoe-obsessed female like me will know that this style of footwear is a STAPLE item for your wardrobe.

Despite the celestial love I have for ankle strap sandals, a frustrating problem I constantly have to deal with when it comes to heeled shoes that bare a large proportion of my foot, is the fact that I have slim feet, which means that they do not adhere to the insole properly making it difficult for me to walk in because it feels as though they are going to fall out.

So it was when I spotted these babies that I caved in and desperately coveted them for months until finally, I managed to get my hands on them. These wraparound sandals belong to the ankle strap family but with the additional support of, as I like to call it, foot armor, to keep those skinny feet well and truly strapped in.

These are probably going to be my go-to black heels for the Spring and Summer -  when it comes to footwear it’s a blessing that no matter what season it is you can never fully abandon the colour black.
